Packers' Shocking Josh Jacobs Warrants Huge NFL Reaction

NFL free agency begins due to legal tampering, therefore news is flying. Re-signings, swaps, and new deals are happening everywhere.

Josh Jacobs, former Las Vegas Raiders running back, joins the Packers. The NFL world's reaction?

Jacobs joined Green Bay, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jacobs became a free agent after joining the Raiders as a first-round pick in 2019. The deal's details are unknown.

“There’s no way this happened,” remarked an NFL fan on Twitter X. “Aaron Jones and Josh Jacobs in the same backfield is crazy,” observed another.

The signing was expected to team Jacobs and Jones, ending AJ Dillon's Green Bay career. Dillon, an approaching free agent, ran for 2,428 yards and 16 touchdowns on 597 rushes in four Packers seasons.

The pairing will not happen. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Packers' Jones release. Jones signed a four-year, $48 million Packers contract in 2021.

Jones' base salary was $11.1 million and cap hit was $17.5 million in 2024, his final season.

“Never forget the time Aaron Jones and Josh Jacobs teamed up to creative one of the fiercest dynamic rushing attacks,” stated another X fan.
