Nicki Minaj and Husband Ordered to Pay $500,000 For Alleged Backstage Assault in Germany

A judge granted the default judgment after the "Barbie World" artist and husband Kenneth Petty failed to reply to a case that claimed Petty broke security man Thomas Weidenmuller's jaw.

A Los Angeles judge determined on Friday that Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty must pay $500,000 to a security guard for an alleged backstage violence that left the guy with a broken jaw.

Thomas Weidenmuller, a security guard, sued the "Barbie World" rapper and her husband two years ago, alleging that Petty ambushed him from behind and sucker punched him in the face in retaliation for Weidenmuller defending a female security guard during a dispute with Minaj at a 2019 concert in Frankfurt, Germany.

According to Weidenmuller, Minaj became clearly irritated and criticized the female security for allowing a fan to jump a barricade and get on stage with her. Minaj allegedly began taping the female security guard as she berated her.

Weidenmuller claims he intervened and told Minaj that it wasn't right for the guard's job reputation to be "ruined" on social media. Minaj apparently tossed a shoe at Weidenmuller as a reaction, but missed.

Weidenmuller claims Petty later accused him of disrespecting Minaj and violently struck him in the face, leaving him "stunned and disoriented."

"I experienced intense agony in my head, neck, face, and jaw. "I knew in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw," he wrote in a court document.

He agreed to change the terms of his release after being sentenced to three years on probation for failing to register as a sex offender in California. He had already been convicted in New York for rape in 1994.
