Biden awkwardly leaves stage at Phoenix event after he sees a baby in the crowd

After seeing a baby in the crowd during a campaign event in Arizona on Tuesday, President Biden left the stage.

Biden appeared embarrassed in Phoenix while supporting his campaign manager, Julie Chávez Rodríguez, during her brief introductory remarks at the Latinos for President Biden gathering.

Biden noticed the infant while she was speaking and left to sit with it and its mother.

"Well, folks, I have to tell you straight up," Biden remarked at El Portal Mexican restaurant before returning to the stage. "I like you all, but I couldn’t resist that little baby."

The Democratic probable presidential nominee urged Latino voters at the rally on Tuesday to back him in November, when he may face former President Trump in the 2024 general election.

"You're the reason why in large part I beat Donald Trump [in 2020]," he remarked. "I need you badly."

After shouts, he indicated he favored his chances in the 2024 rematch.

Rodríguez spoke first at the rally, urging Latino voters to back the Biden-Harris ticket. Then, Arizona State junior Luis Reyes introduced the President onstage.
